As usual with a meet that size (60-70 cars) the cops turned up to shut it down.
What meet was that? I was cruising around out west in my MX5 after being in town and saw a few lines of nice cars cruising together.
Went to follow one when a car full of nice young maori boys pulled up next to me and started talking shit.

The meet was at Rocket Park, organised by a group on facebook called Live Low.
The plan was to cruise out to Orewa for some photos but i decided to just go home.
Heard from a mate that a big group got blocked in by police at the Orewa surf club

Police were out in force last night, they had about 8 cars patrolling and setting up stops all over the coast from about 6pm. Got stopped on the way home from work at midnight, just got waved through after they checked rego etc.

Yeah they were, I went through a checkpoint at 1am and my roof happened to be down.
They breath tested me, checked my licence, checked rego & WoF and then let me go. The guy didn't seem too happy with me for some reason.

oooh oooh! pics plz!
I took some time away from my hazy bubble to go outside and cement in a board on my driveway to make it easier to get out without scraping... who knows, if the clearance is enough I might be able to lower my car a bit

just a thought chris, but something like this could suit your setup..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VIIuSXmATE
its a cheap Chinese gps....
they have mp3 output, can play and record video (eg track times), do navigation stuff and you can also set them up to also be a reverse camera display (you would need another camera at the back of course)

Okay, the amp works, and it works well, only problem I have is somehow the aux cable interferes with the revs of the car, or vice versa and I get a high pitched whine through the speakers depending on what revs I am doing...
I also now have a HUGE sheet of carbon fibre ;D

I had the same problem on mine, when I got my amp installed, I also got him to install a line filter/suppressor and it fixed it for me... not sure where exactly it was put, maybe on the amps power lead?
sorry if thats a bit vague but I hope it at least points you in the general direction

Sounds fun, I'll see what I can do
and for what its worth, I recall the actual suppressor hardware is cheap so it *should* cost you bugger all if you can install it yourself. (eg use a soldering iron and heatshrink). I only paid for it to be done for me because I was getting a whole pile of stuff done and didn't want the hassle of anything going wrong (and you can call him and say "yeah, its fucked, unfuck it now plz")

trademe is an insidious cancer .... it just forced me to buy this for $50 ... *forced me* I tell you!
-=edit=- and chris, this may be worth checking out

and the first thing you should do before you do anything else is check ALL of the grounding points for the earth wire in your car. pretty sure there's one under the dash, one on the engine and maybe a few others hiding somewhere.
and if video is more your thing, here's a fat old man to explain stuff in detail.

Time for the morning after post.
Bloody headaches.
Okay, so the radio works, as I stated above I have some noise that I believe is due to my very hori dori ground , I will be reviewing this tonight (sober)
I picked up some carbon fibre last night to use for the delete plate, this should look dope
As you can see the radio looks super rough at the moment, so I need to keep cutting down wires out of there. Should be done in the next week.

is that one of those Lepai amps?
i bought one for my office and they seem to be pretty fussy with regard to noise. they also dont like operating at over 13 volts. i suggest getting a supressor fitted and a couple of diodes in series to drop the voltage down a bit.each diode will drop 0.6 volts off the supplyyoull need some grunty 4 amp or more ones

Are you changing the colour of the speedo or the whole design?

I recall seeing an awesome post from a guy in Germany who did a full gauge upgrade to something I'd expect to see on a motorbike in that it gave data on EVERYTHING. Are you just doing the face, or will you attempt to do the entire thing? Would that involve going to a digital speedo?
