I felt like that again when I got the car running on 4 cylinders again :p The car certainly sucks through a lot of petrol when you destroy the injector o rings.

Just think how much more fun it would be with more power and you blip down into second ;)
Powers overrated. I want response and decent sound not chudududu when I shift.

Anyway today i managed to get the rounded seat bolt out and was able to do a foamectomy.
Removed the foam bump/bucket off the bottom of the seat and removed the pad in the back of the seat.
Now have ~50mm of head room instead of me being able to sit up and have my head touching the roof.

Best mod ever!

It had to be well and truly butchered to get out. Didnt help that it was the hardest to reach bolt and looks like it had loctite on it

yeah, that yellow'ish residue looks like ancient loctite. at least the little sucker is out now.

I have spent the last few hours sanding and painting my hardtop latches in my painters booth (some people call it a bathroom, but, whatever) and I was amazed how pitted with corrosion they were.

pity I didn't take a pic showing how bad they were, but heres the (drying) finished product...

Did you have trouble undoing the screws holding them in? Mine are all rounded...

Easy out time?

They came out quite easily Snapfrozen, seems like some idiot has tried to use an inappropriately sized tool to try and get yours off.

here's a little more info for those considering giving their latches a birthday.

I used a 180 grit wet and dry sandpaper to prep the latches for painting, I initially thought it would be too course but it turned out to be just right. The pitting took quite a while to sand down and I was surprised how corroded mine where but that is to be expected considering its age.

Remember to pop a bit of masking tape over the release button after you have washed the latch with meths/alcohol, prior to painting.

I used 2 coats of satin black and 2 coats of clear acrylic and they look almost brand new. Ensure you give it adequate drying time, it sucks to get finger prints on your hard work.

-=edit=-
please bear in mind my tablets camera is shite... the previously attached photo doesn't really do them justice.

My latches went all weird as well but some genuis used glue or something when they put the bolts back in so I cant get them out to repaint so we cleaned them up with interior dash cleaner and they look new again.

Yesterday i did a foamectomy to the passenger seat then went about fitting the rollbar properly(hands are now cut to hell because of it) and cut the parcel tray fabric to fit around the rear stays.
Today i fitted some spare 16cm speakers in the doors as the factory ones had disintegrated, sounds way better. Considering getting a set of 4" speakers so i can hook up the headrest speakers again.
Also jerry rigged a camera mount onto the rollbar so i can film tonights togue session
