Any pics of a blue soft top out there?
Ok, I've been reading through these replies and talking to
people about colours of soft tops. I've searched all over
the net for pics of MX5's, but have only found (have seen
hundreds of pics so far on the net) tops that are either
black or tan. I know they make different colours, but does
anyone actually put them on. I'm particularly interested in
what a blue top would look like on a white MX5, as I've been
told by many that that is the way to go if not using black.
Have to replace the top soon as its on its last legs, but
would like to see what it would look like first. Bit
expensive to change if looks like c..p
Please help.

Hi Phil
Frustrating, isn't it? I know I've seen a pic of a White MX5 with a blue
hood somewhere, but can I find it? No. Sorry. From memory my reaction was
that it looked much, much better than the black hood on a white car - made
the car look really something on those unfortunate days when the hood has to
be up.
Having had a quick trawl through Google, a thought occurs to me. If
Americans call the bonnet the 'hood', what do they call the hood?

Hey thanks,
I know what you mean. I thought that the top will be down
most of the time anyway so just go black. But EVERYONE has a
black roof. But being in the naki, rain is fairly common so,
the top might be up more than less I'd say.
I've also been researhing tops, and there are afew different
brands out there. Robbins is the most highly used, but is
more expensive. Heard any feed back on the other brands? ie
EZ-on, Acme etc

You could ask Chrissy to e-mail you (personally) a photo of her 10th
anniversary edition - it has a blue top. Maybe she has a photo on a website
...?

Hi there
Phil here. I'm the one after the pics. (Refer to beginning of thread)
Would like to see a blue top on a white car, but am keen to
see your pics to see what shade of blue they are. What was the brand?
pepe@clear.net.nz
Thanks
Phil

I believe I can clear this one up for you. The English didn't need to travel
5000 Kms at a time so they didn't need to carry any lugage, just a spare
pair of boots.
