I understand your rationale Mike, but my style bars are very similar to the twin-hoop bars that you believe to be okay. These are the same ones I conducted my infamous crash test dummy experiment on, and came away feeling really dumb with a very sore head.
ps- Car passed a WOF with bars again, but gone is my gloriously deafening exhaust note, replaced with a much muffled burble. Can't complain though, they passed my car even though the handbrake is barely functioning.
