Try TWL, (www.twlnz.co.nz) I organized an MX5 Club deal last year as a one off, in fact they put me onto the importer who offered a better deal but we had to buy in bulk.
They stock Koni Shock Absorbers and are great to deal with.

http://www.georgestock.co.nz/ is the NewZealand importer/agent for both Koni and KYB.
Give them a call.

Sounds like you are looking for a reasonably standard replacement shock as opposed to a compeition/preformance shock, am I right?
If so, KYBs (via George Stock branches in different centre, H.O. Auck) might be your best bet. Some say the KYB standard replacement is 20% uprated and from memory retails at approx $129 + gst ea. Probably hard to go past on a value for money basis......

Tomorrow is the day.
Thanks for all you help.
I have finally manage to track down a set of rear shocks, “Unfortunately ” the only ones available are nice shinny new Bilsteins.
So tomorrow I will dump the old standard shocks and install the new Bilsteins
Any tips on going from the standard to the bilsteins ?
These will be fitted with a lowered set of eibach springs any ideas on where to locate the lower spring mount ?
Thanks
Neil.
PS. Thanks to MX5PWR for the springs and shocks, unfortunately one of the shocks is stuffed, I will be intouch regarding returing the springs and 1 good shock to you.

Hi Gazza...
Were you able to get your Konis at better than retail?
I have been looking, and comparing US retail (Racing Beat and Flyin Miata) v. George Stocks retail. This suggests we are paying more than DOUBLE the US retail !!!! My 2 rears are working at about 40% efficiency on a 'drive on' shock tester...........
My fronts are fine.

No worries, thanks anyway. I may be better to look for someone who is looking for an upgrade and just do a full shocks/springs swap as this reduces the work involved for both parties. That was someone can get a set of nearly new Koni adjustables for not too much cash,
Did you get any quotes for the swap over? I did it myself last time but not sure if I can be bothered doing it again.
Cheers

Miata forum has that info in several articles. There are about 3 different methods of replacing the fronts...some of which result in the need to re align the wheels, but if there is a change in ride height a fresh wheel alignment is mandatory.
What springs are on your konis?
Were you able to buy Konis at a good price?
