Hmmm, I've lost 80% of boot space fitting the amps, now I'm going to lose
the parcel shelf to two 10" Sub Woofers ...

The boot is a bit bigger in volume and more "packable" due to better
arrangement of the space - both battery and spare wheel are under a flat
floor that stretches from one side of the car to the other - much more
amenable to packing a lot of stuff. It isn't as tall in the middle where
the M1 boot has the deeper well, but I haven't found that to ever be a
problem.

If I want to carry big or heavy stuff I use one of the other cars, e.g. the
Vitara towing the horse float to collect 35 bales of hay... Can't even fit
one in the MX boot

No, my ear drums are semi-safe untill I get a newer, more powerful amp to
run it :) It's only cranking out about 200w @ the moment :(

Official Mazda policy statement - "This car is not suitable for towing".

Generally, I try not to have to tow any car I own, but if it needs it,
I'll do it, no matter what the manual says... :-)

I've got a set of good quality 6X9's that I removed from my previous
car, but I've never figured out where I could put them in the MX-5...
Where are yours?

Fletch.

Official policy? (deep breath... ) from Mazda? they still haven't worked out how to put lights behind the cheap plastic
bumper reflectors...

P.S I also (on occasion) ignore Official Policies on speed, noise, amount of passengers, being happy in the rain, and
excessive amounts of chrome...

Will a case of wine fit in?

Where are these lights in the bumper reflectors? Front or rear? Any
pictures?

Front and rear, on the sides, red lenses at rear, orange at front.
Front ones are connected to indicator circuit. Some of you with
older imports may have lights without realising it - the cabling is
VERY exposed and subject to failure, as are the bulbs which aren't
noticed in WOF inspections. What I'm trying to say is you may have
them but they're busted.

Have sent photos to Phil.

In a box that sits on the parcel shelf. I've got a newer 1 in the making
which will be rounded to accomodate the top folded down a bit better. I have
to leave it for a while tho, 'cause I'm going to get a style bar and it will
have to take that into consideration.

A very good question, so I just did the required experiment. If the cases
are lying on their sides you can fit 2 cases in the boot of an M2 easily.
It is wide enough for 3, but the boot is not quite as deep on the right
hand side as on the left (due to the battery placement) and a case doesn't
quite fit on the right as a result. A case of wine will not fit standing
up. Still, you are supposed to store wine on its side aren't you?
