Ours is a 2nd hand Stenhoj. BMW and ford dealerships cycle them every 10 years and service them ever six months.
Best two post i've used...

Hoists are not To expensive I think.

Highly recommend it, I did it on TROLOL and it made a world of difference.Junkwhale wrote:keen to hear if it makes much difference - was thinking of doing mine but wondered if it would really be worth it4A-GE wrote:Rebuilt the shifter assembly.
Will have a one man circle jerk review of the noticeable difference tonight.
I am yet to do it on the blue turd

Oh, beg my pardon - The difference really is nigh and day, especially for road noise. I've torn out heaps of sound deadening too, and now it's super quiet. It's fantastic; conversation is a thing again.
In terms of feel, it's tighter and smoother at the same time. It's a funny one, but it's nice for sure.

It may be a silly thing to ask, I always thought my shifter was a little notchy but when I disassembled it it appeared to be fine (bushings and other plastic bits in there) and no where near as disintegrated as some on M.Net and CR, in fact everything looked intact apart from the lower boot. Would it be a good idea to go ahead and piece it back together anyway with new parts?chris wrote:Highly recommend it, I did it on TROLOL and it made a world of difference.Junkwhale wrote:keen to hear if it makes much difference - was thinking of doing mine but wondered if it would really be worth it4A-GE wrote:Rebuilt the shifter assembly.

Yeah. The whole thing slides off the arm and just clicks into place. A hinged lid then slips over to lock it onto the arm. They work great. Pity my washer stopped working though. Think the relay has failed. Will check it out soon.
The blades were less than $18 for the pair. My mate who sold them to me reckons they hardly even make noise when the window is dry. Well worth the loot with winter coming on.

Well..
Today? I drove it. Hard.
Need a new radiator haha. So Honda Civic Race Radiator will be going in shortly, traced my Tacho issue back to a fuse, it was that fucking simple.
Found out I need some new front tyres.. They are shocking in the wet.

I never had understeer in TROLOL, I wouldn't say understeer as such just kind of sliding with the whole car.4A-GE wrote:Is understeer common or is it my big fuckoff sway bar?chris wrote: Found out I need some new front tyres.. They are shocking in the wet.
Big fuck off sway bar probably isn't helping, however, if you want to swap it out for a factory one, let me know

Less is more with sway bars... they are good for fine tuning your handling balance, but too much can make the car handle like balls.
A lot of people run standard swaybars with stiffer springs (e.g on adjustable coilovers), some autocrossers in the US prefer to disconnect the rear swaybar altogether to reduce oversteer when accelerating out of corners.

This.
Sway bars are used for trimming after shocks / springs / set up.
