Fuel Mapping Sensor
Hi
I have an engine warning light on the dash, I have had it to the mechanic and he tells me I need a new fuel mapping sensor, apparently they are not available in NZ, does anyone know any different?

A fuel mapping sensor...
Try taking it to a mazda mechanic would be my advice
Or just go to a mazda dealer
Could just be the Air Flow Meter but thats the closest thing to a fuel mapping sensor on any NA/NB and the car won't start if this isn't working
Only other option I can think of is the Evap canister relay but I removed mine and didn't throw any codes
Try remove the evap canister and loop the lines I can send you some pics of how to do it or just google it and there are hundreds of how to's on it

Here's a how to
http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php? ... l=charcoal
Try disconnecting this sensor and see if it still throws a CEL (the one behind the coolant tank)

Not the first time i've heard of that fault,Had Auto sparkys ring from time to time for them,Not all NB's have it either, only the last of the late NB's that met emission rules from a couple of years ago.
If you get stuck, find the part number on it and contact me at work(Mazline),Might be able to find one
