FM Voodoo box
Hi Guys
Anyone had experience with the Voodoo Box from Flyin Miata? as for now i need a cheap ecu for my high mileage engine.
Seems like for under NZ$1000 i could get the box, boost gauge & WBO2 with dial and fit & tune myself for satisfactory performance.
My tuner said he would look out for a decent second hand link but that was 5 months ago & i'm tired of waiting

Can't say about the ECU itself, but if you do end up on deciding to get it, might be able to save you some money in freight cost, as I have got a part container of stuff coming from Flyin Miata in the next week or so. The only problem is that it is coming via boat, so you would have to wait a couple of months.

Hi all....have my WB02 sensor, boost gauge & voodoo box installed & so far so good! I have dropped the timing back to 6 degrees & took it for a few runs to see if i could understand the tuning part but i feel i had better put a boost controller on as it gets up to 15psi or more!!! Also the AFR readout is still abit of a mystery to me as i have yet to interpret just what the gauge is telling me and also what values i should be adjusting to?
At the moment at idle it reads 14.7ish but under drive and/or boost the digits change so rapidly its hard to know the actual reading is but it seems to drop down to around 12ish under boost so untill i can safely drive without it over-boosted its been put off for another day!
Is there any adjustability with the original 323 wasegate?

Hi Keith.....thanks for that------- here is a link to the tuning info http://www.flyinmiata.com/support/instr ... oo_Box.pdf.
I have been able to adjust pot "S" but not pot "G" although i was able to introduce stumble upon acceleration & able to remove again by setting the pot to low or turned fully anti-clockwise.
I did not have any noticeable change either thru the AEM gauge or while driving whilst adjusting pot "R". The readout seems very sensitve to boost ranging in values from 11 up to 17 from memory.
I may email FM to see what they can advise.

It may be faulty but after a bit more tuning & fidlingn it has come down to about 10psi under max boost at hi rpm.....is it possible this wastegate has a higher thresh-hold?sprsta wrote:i think you may have a broken wastegate you shouldnt be seeing over 15 psi if you are just using the wastegate to controll boost 7psi is usually what a internal waste gate is set at
