Intercooler

Post by warrior » Mon Feb 25, 2013 4:21 pm

I am upping the boost on my supercharged car so I am going to install an intercooler. What are people using out there? And can anyone suggest where to get a good intercooler from?

Looking at there appox sizes

width 400mm
height 200mm
depth 75mm

Any suggestions would be great.

Ha ha....nice one. With a supercharger you need to go smaller than a turbo as you can run into massive idling problems with a core that is too large. This is the appox size that TRACKDOG racing sell in there kits for there superchargers.

Also would like a intercooler with top inlet and outlet holes if that makes any sence

Got my IC from LuxurySports in Neilson St Onehunga for $160.00.

Size is 450x180x65 & its a bar & plate one.

No complaints!

Just measure the space where you are going to put it as its a pain when they dont fit easily from word go! & keep in mind the inlet/outlet positions for the piping to route effectively.

Considering this was my second attempt it all boils down to forethought & also a lot of trial & error! :D.

Could take more pics but its all installed & covered now.

i had already removed my ac before the turbo went on

alot of people mount the intercooler behind the bumper beam so you cant see it from the front when the bumper is on

mine was mounted almost as far forward as possible

Made my brackets as well and got the pipes from Tube Benders in East Tamaki [half the price of Ullrich] & had them welded by my neighbour.

Would put up some pics but doesnt seem to want to load anymore!
