Hey everyone, new member here from Auckland. Just purchased a 91 MX5 roadstar (off my mum LOL) on the weekend. On the hunt for a body kit + a few other things so thought id join.

So yeah, the MX5 has a few mods, listed below and goes quite well.. will be better when i throw the manual conversion kit i have for it in..

Mods are: That i can remember..

TD04 Turbo
Custom Manifold
Buddy club exhaust
Front mount intercooler
Autronic Mapped ECU
Mazdaspeed pistons
Tein suspention (has a cert for adjustys)

etc etc..

It has sounds etc, but thats not really performance modes, althou the GT style rear wing is lol..

Was wanting to turn this into a baby batty look alike.. anyone done this?

Can't ad pics, but will as soon as i can

I also have a turbo Primera
Holden walkinshaw replica

i have always thought the veilside kit makes it look similar to a bat mobile thats what i have i was also thinking of grafting some bat mobile tail lights into it aswell but couldnt find any in time think they may have been abit wide for it also

knowing you GRNRCR will become a special machine in time.

I got all my turbo parts except the manifold sitting in the shed just waiting for some motivation lol.

Brownie, yeah that possibly could have been the reason, It was cheap enough thou, i scored it for $4.5k with manual conversion kit. it was advertised with that also, but i suppose not everyone will be able to do it themselfs which will add more $ to it.

Sprsta - Looks good mate, esp with the roof on it.

Andy, yip it will be a machine hopefully once finished, but like you too many cars, no enough motivation for them all...

i would have paid 4500, but 7 was a joke

welcome to the list kiwicon - that's a good buy you got there! What
plans do you have for it? :]

I'm not finding many people (2 in fact) interested in buying mine as a
turbo'mx5 either ... no-one appreciates how much it is to do it all
properly! Will prob. end up splitting it all up and selling separately
... it'll probably get twice as much that way!

Actually, it went right down to 5.5K no reserve - still no interest in it. This was with the maunal convesion incl

I don't think 7 grand was a joke, after all it was the ONLY turbo MX5 on trademe at the time. OK you never get back what you pay, but this has had just on 15K thrown at it, so i thought it was priced to sell.

Its a struggle finding buyers for any cars at the moment IMO, plenty of bargains around but nobody wants to spend money. I'd buy your turbo5 if I hadn't spent the money upgrading my 'sensible car' instead!

100% correct, look at what later model commys and fords are going for now adays, almost cheap enough to buy one and chuck it in the garage and bring it out as a weekend skidder or similar.
