Anyone using I Pad to load pics

Post by GRUVBB » Wed May 15, 2013 7:24 pm

I still don't seem able to load pics. I am starting to suspect that Apple does not communicate with forumn or hosting sites.... Anyone know what issue can be???.... I get to BROWSE or SELECT FILE option and then it all goes askew..... The complete field box highlights as if it is being selected for a cut and paste manoeuvre.... It reads copy above the blue highlighted box.... Starting to do my head in  ?.. What status should my options be when posting .... 3 options being.... disable BBCode...disable Smilies and Notify me when reply posted.... At present HTML is Off?... Could this be my issue or one of them???

generally speaking it pays to leave smilies on and BBcode enabled while PM notification is really up to you. you need BBcode to post images etc.

I sent you a PM with a step by step, feel free to contact me if I was obtuse about anything or if you need any further help :)

I realize its a tad confusing initially but you'll get the hang of it soon enough :D

I hope you don't mind GRUVBB, but I just considered that potentially others may find this info useful, so I hope you don't mind me posting it here.
hello, my method for using postimage.org is thus,

1) I have computer selected (its selected by default)

2) I select browse and point it at the image file, be it gif, jpg, bmp or whatever. in the window that pops up to browse for the image, I make sure its name has been put in the bottom field eg racecar.jpg and select open.

3) i don't bother resizing my image as I do that in paint before uploading

4) I leave the next field in the default "family safe" then click upload

in the next window that comes up, you are only really interested in the second option "direct link" ...... just right click on it (it will auto highlight) and select copy. This now has temporarily saved the link to your clipboard.

now you can go to your forum post and use whats called "BB code" and this will use the 'img' tags.
think of it as brackets that go around something and tell it what to do eg, bolden text or show a video, there are many possibilities.

in your post you will need to use img tags which are in square brackets []. for each tag you need an opener and a closer (the closer just has a / which tells the forum that your command has reached the end of its relevant data)

in this example I will use {} these brackets otherwise the code won't show up. just hit the 'IMG' button next to 'List=' once and it will put {img} (but with square brackets).... now just paste the direct link you copied earlier and then hit IMG again and it will close the statement for you (eg put a {/img} at the end)

it should look like this:

{img}http://s22.postimg.org/637idog5d/aa1.jpg{/img}

now if you replace the {} brackets in the above example, this is what shows up:

I hope you don't mind me sharing this PM

If the image hosting site doesn't have a 'mobile' version of the site, things wont work as they should. Your options are to use a different hosting site, or send them to a computer and upload from there.

http://imgur.com has a mobile option.

I have changed my profile settings to what is working for MrGrey... Tried My Garage Manage Gallery again and it's still the same things happening.... Went to Postimage.org and still the same there.......... No problem with PM being shared... Hate for others to suffer this as well... Running out of hair to pull out before this started....it's only the original Black ones that come out now. Not the invading Grey ones( No pun intended towards MrGrey and his assistance)
