Freight costs

Post by Keith Jones » Fri Jul 08, 2011 3:13 pm

I am selling my current race seat as I'm going to a full roll cage and it won't fit with my Racepro seat.
I have someone in Dunedin interested in buying it but Mainfreight want $240 to ship it. Does anyone know of cheaper freight companies?
The volume is 0.4m3, so it's too big to go by NZ ParcelPost or Courier Post.
Thanks

I have used Bascik's to get stuff from ChCh. Not sure if they go to Dunedin.

If it's reasonably light Fastways would also take it,just make sure it's well wrapped.

priced the same parcel through shipmytrade.co.nz and they wanted $91 or $69 if not rural delivery. SO i emailed them to ask where their closest depot to Takaka is Monday afternoon and again tuesday morning and as at 1.30 tuesday afternoon i have no replies so i wouldnt waste my time with them.

Thanks to the Anonymous Someone that passed on my previous post to shipmytrade.co.nz

The nice lady from shipmytrade phoned me to explain my emails had somehow been deleted without being read and has gone out of her way to make amends for the situation.

So looks like they might be a go afterall, we will give them this delivery and see how it goes

Shipmytrade responded with a quote within 15 minutes, so their comment about deleting your email was probably true.
They wanted $158 to ship my seat to Dunedin, so a good reduction on Mainfreight.
The seat was eventually sold to a local guy, but I've learned a bit a freight costs.
