they were looking at 'spy cars' that try to avoid their chaser by
various means such as smoke screens, oil slicks etc

They had a red, white and blue NA

Just dont watch Series 9 then.

They use a blue MX5 to investigate the myth that pouring petrol all over a car, and then throwing a match into it, creates a high force explosion like in the movies. It doesnt, but it does burn the car to the ground. Then they show what is needed to make a huge explosion like in the movies, using about a kilo of C4, and a white MX5.

Not all is bad though, I did notice that at least one of them was an automatic...

I say from the first couple of shots, the myth should have been whether you can see where you are going if your car is full of smoke.
