Air intake pipe on TradeMe +10HP... I don't think so!

There is some bloke called "Purepot" on TradeMe advertising a stainless (or
alloy??) air intake pipe that sits across the front of the engine, claiming an
extra 10HP. Apart from the worlds worst spelling I imagine that "Purepot" is
talking "Pure-B.S." Any thoughts?

And they only fit the 1.6 engine !! but they look nice which must be worth a
few horse power!!!

I had one of those on my old car. I didn't notice any improvement in
performance when fitted, but it did look really good
