Car Aerial

Post by Registrar » Wed Nov 23, 2005 6:59 am

Have the chance to buy a new car aerial for my little green roadster.

It is a Roadstar Fully Automatic Motor Antenna

RS-765 with 5 sections of stainless steel with extended length of 100cm.

I read somewhere that one has to be careful when buying a aerial for the MX5
because of the restricted space within the boot.

My question to all you car mechanics out there is "Does this brand fit the
MX5"?

Love this site with all the interesting tips one reads and love the MX5, a
new convert to BRG

Hi Roy and Sue (and anyone else who was wondering),

Cars are "dressed" prior to departure, but you can make additions to your
final detailing once we arrive at Huntly

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but its one present per person if you
would like to sit on Mrs Claus knee - so if the two of you both want to tell
her your christmas wishes then two presents it is :O)

Nix

If your car is an NA model, then I think you will find that any replacement
antenna must be the genuine Mazda one. What antenna is fitted at present? If
you measure the space inside the boot where the antenna will fit, it should
be easy to see whether the antenna you are looking at will fit, and also
have a look at the factory brackets that support the antenna. The motor unit
will have to be attached to these brackets to support it properly. There is
also a drain hose to connect to the bottom of the antenna to drian any
moisture to the outside of the boot. Don't forget to attach that.
