I know of new cars that would fail your exam!

Btw - I have purchased 3 MX5's - one for a lot of $$$, one for next to
nothing, and one in the middle.
Have not had any issue with any of them. You can buy the miata manuals
for the appropriate model and you can do all the work yourself (really
easy to learn with step by step guides).
