Replacing door speakers

Post by John Wakely » Sat Sep 24, 2005 5:15 pm

Bought a Laguna Blue 94 1.8 a few months back and am thrilled with it. Now
looking to improve the audio system . There were no headrest speakers so
fitted some 4" Pioneers from Parallelimported with very good results . My door
speakers are not much chop though, one original and one odd sized replacement
. I am looking to put some new 6.5" dia. in to replace them . I don't want to
spend a million dollars as, after all it is a convertible and the best music
comes from the engine and exhaust . A couple of contenders are either Alpine
SPS 170A's or JBL GTO 626's , both about $89 a pair. Does anyone have any
recent experience of replacing door speakers, or any comments on what gives
good results in an MX5 ?

Hi,

I am about to pull out the Air conditioning from my NA MX5. (I need to make
room for the intercooler - sweeeeeet!)

It is in perfect working condition and will be a fairly easy (I think)
installation into a non-Aircon'ed car.

If any one is interested in it please just let me know.

Chris
