Fastest stock MX5

I'm guessing that the Factory Turbo is the fastest ever stock MX5? What was
next on the list for normally aspirated ones?

I think the SP turbo is the fastest factory MX-5.

I *think* the Jap R spec is the fastest Naturally Aspirated Factory MX-5.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Well ..

Since the NC has already started selling in the US it *might* be the
fastest.

I don't know if the Japanese will have an R(S) version of the NC.

Speaking of which, did anyone in Auckland get to the Mazda Art Show at the Hilton this week and see the NC that's supposed to be on show there? Thought I might take a look (at the art of course ;O) on Saturday

Which is the factory Rspec NA or NB? Ok I'm a bit ignorant
of the various models.

You should also consider ..

51 x 4WD 6cyl Turbo Charged Ice Racing Miatas.

" Thanks to the sub-freezing temperatures in the sport, Mazda was able to do
away with the radiator and oil cooler, lightening the car by 52.1 kilograms.
The engine is also fitted with a warm air induction system to help deal with
the cold. A turbocharger is fitted to help heat the intake air - it runs at
very low boost because of the density of air at the usual cold temperatures.
Hotter cams round out the package, and give 268 horsepower in -20 degrees
Celsius. Due to these modifications, however, the engine overheats whenever
the temperature rises above freezing. Because of this, dry-pavement testing
session has never been possible."

Its just madness running a soft top in that weather. Got to be fun tho'

Not dissimilar to the new (Kiwi) Top Gear mag - they run an atom to the
arctic circle.

And I thought I was tough driving with the top down all winter.
