National Auto Club will insure pretty much anything at a price.
Last time I dealt with AMI I was getting insurance on a prelude I'd bought as a project. The woman at the call centre asked if it was modified, I said no, but said I was thinking about it, intending to ask what mods they'd allow. Before I got a chance she said they wouldn't cover it, they don't cover modified cars. I said it's not modified. She said yes but you're going to modify it. I explained I was only wanting to ask what I could do, but she was insistent. I offered to hang up and call again and this time not say I was thinking about modifying it. She explained that the call would come back to her and she'd make a note on my file anyway. Things degenerated from there...

Sorry – I know that this has been covered before (I just cannot find it).

Doing the right thing by telling my insurers what I have done to the car
– and gee now they won’t cover me as the car is modified.
Can anyone please tell me a modified-car friendly insurer?
