My daughter has just bought a white 1990, so now we're a 2-MX5 family
Everything is good about it apart from the passenger window winder (manual,
not electric), which doesn't work properly. The window is very hard to move in
either direction without using your hand on the glass to help it along and the
winder handle seems to be slipping most of the time as well. Anybody got any
ideas what may be wrong with it and whether it is fixable?

Broken window winder
Hi Tim,
The winder handle has a star shaped hole in it which fits onto the same
shaped metal part which sticks out of the door panel. It could be that
the handle has been stripped and is no longer gripping properly. I think
I've got a spare one in the garage if you need it.
The winder is held on by a clip. To remove the clip, get a thin cloth and
hook it round the winder, making sure it goes between the winder and the
door. Then just rotate the cloth and the clip should just pop out. Sorry
it's a bit tricky to describe, but really easy to do.
Inspecting the exposed parts should answer your question.
Cheers
