Just to say well done to the 3 MX5's racing at Manfield today in the dual
sprint and to remind members the next day is early June. See the MG club
website for more details.

They only posted one set of times before we packed up at 4pm. Over 100 cars
ran, so they got behind, but will put them on the MG club intermarque website.
A shared driver standard MX5 had 1.min 42 and about 1.min 33 respectively.
for the two drivers.
A stripped MX5 hardtop being race preped but on its first run was about
1min.33 and probably got quicker as it went.
I started at 1.min 46 (first ever lap of Manfield) and got to 1.41 after 3
runs, so I'll go back this Friday (testing day) to practice where I should be
braking and so on. Anyone else is welcome to come.
The race cars in the faster group (Porsches, Evo's, Subarus, RX 7's etc) got
to 1.20 or even less by the end of the day.
Great fun and if only I had deeper pockets...

9am to 4pm. Cost $80 for the day, no half days now. Half price for Manawatu
car club members, so if you're going more than once it'd be worth joining.
I arrived at 3pm last Friday and they didnt charge me at all. You get
alternate blocks of time with the bikes, but I guess it depends on who and how
many turn up ,on a cold day you could just about have the track to yourself.
