Bumpstops

Post by Lou Girardin » Thu Oct 25, 2001 8:19 am

Sounds contrary to all suspension theory I've ever heard. The closest
practical example was rubber overload springs that were used on truck
suspension. Vastly different to car usage.
One way to test these theories is to remove the springs and go for a drive.
Pick a wide road with lots of run-off areas though. Good Luck!

Bumpstops

Lou,

Do as the guy in one of the articles suggests... fit a tie-wrap to one of
your shock pistons, do it up tight, and go for an enthusiastic drive. Tell
us all if it ends up hard against the bump stop or not. Nothing like a bit
of practical info to prove or disprove theory.
