Kevin, my 1990 had a Loch Stewart exhaust system fitted about 4 years ago. It was designed as a "Cat back" system, but I decided to throw away the Cat at the same time for a bit more flow. Unfortunately the car sounded like a two stroke motor bike, so after experimenting with a few resonators I ended up putting a Coby "hotdog" muffler where the cat was. As the Cat was binned, so too was the sensor that was attached to it. this caused no problems other than the HEAT light on the dash being constantly on (I presume telling me that the non-existent cat had burned out and needed replacing). I remember I tried to remove the bulb behind the heat indicator, but it disabled the rest of the lights as well (although now I don't think this makes sense and it was probably just a case of me not plugging one of the dash cables back in properly) so in the end I just covered the inside of the indicator with a few layers of black tape so the light could no longer shine through.
