Sometime ago somebody was after a small clock for their MX5. Check this site
out. They have a range of 52mm guages including a clock at 32 euros.

Probably me. I tried the link but will have to get one of my Dutch customers
to translate it for me!
I did get a clock though. Found a rather garish ceramic fish with a small
quartz clock in it's middle at the Warehouse. Cost the princely sum of $3.00.
Removed the clock, painted the black hands white, printed a new face with
white numerals on a black background, added my company name and the MX5 club
logo, then fitted it to a new top for the ash tray. The clock is about 40mm in
diameter. I've found that some bright white LED's fitted near the clock under
it's housing give it a nice glow for nighttime reading as well.

Grant. All that sun might be getting to you! Seriously you are to be
commended for best use of a cheap whare-house item to improve your mx. If I
can find one at the local I may well follow suit (given that I broke tha cover
off my ashtray trying to retrieve my garage door opener from within.) Any
photos? (of the clock as opposed to any photos in general)

P.S. any other good uses for a redundant and broken ashtray assembly besides a
drink holder?

I have photos but haven't got around to putting them on the web somewhere yet.
Have photos of my windblocker and 4" (Warehouse again) speakers in the
headrests as well. After next wednesday morning I hope to have photos of the
spare wheel mounted under the floor. Have an appointment with the local
exhaust specialist. I noticed my paper replacement clock face is wrinkling
slightly so will reprint it on some better quality paper. Got some glossy
stuff for the colour laser I use, so should look a bit better and be more
stable.
