ABS

I was looking lovingly under my bonnet today and noticed that on the fusebox
between the fuses marked 'cooling fan' and 'BTN' is one marked 'ABS', (in
brackets.) Sure enough there is a fuse under the cover (60A). At the risk of
sounding thick I am forced to concede that I don't know if I have ABS, and
wouldn't know the relevant under bonnet componentry to look at if it leapt up
and hit me in the face. The sticker inside the drivers door has N under ABS,
but then it also has N under aircon, and it certainly has that! How can I
recognise and ABS setup under bonnet, and what year was this first available
as an option? Or is there a simpler explanation for this?
