I have a small but irritating leak into my boot, and wonder if anyone
can tell me how to remedy it. The leak is from the seal around the soft top
on the drivers side (I think). It looks like water is supposed to drain
around the rail to inside the pillar behind the drivers door (which it does)
and down and out the bottom of the sill (which it does also). Water is
however getting down onto the carpet in the soft top well on the drivers side
and then draining straight down into the boot on that side. Do I need to
remove the whole rearmost attachment of the soft top, and replace some kind of
sealing strip? If this all sounds too hard to understand can someone
recomment somewhere in the AK region where someone could have a look at this
for me?
Thanks!

I recommend you take the plastic clips off the carpet under the rear window
and than take off the three metal curved bits that hold the rear window and
rain rail in place. It's easier / necessary to do this with the top
unlatched to take the strain off the top.
drains.
Should take you less than an hour to check it out and put it back together.
Cheers
Mike.

like it's folded in half) is damaged or if there is any crap blocking theFrom there you can see if the rain rail (plastic gutter thing that looks
drains.

Thanks Mike for the advice; I disassembled as suggested and nothing seems to
be broken or missing, but still water poured on the rear screen gets in
between the hood and the metal sealing strip just at the point where the rear
window flap and the rest of the roof meet on the drivers side. Just to make
sure I've got this right, once I remove the three metal strips under the
carpet, should the next layer be fabric (i.e. the bottom of the hood itself),
then the car body? No other gasket or sealing strip? I presume the 'rain
rail' is the piece attached to the upper lip of the soft top well???
