Hey Lou, In the fuel pressure specs you gave me a while back you said that the injectors should be seeing around 81psi @ 7 pounds of boost. If my boost gauge is correct, and the blower is making fractionally more than 7 pounds, won't that mean a pump putting out 75-80psi won't cope, or am I missing something here.
By searching the web it looks like I could land a JR pump in NZ for roughly around $500, but the $800 pump (that was supposed to arrive tomorrow) has already been installed so it looks like I was a bit slow. I hope its a very high quality one as I'm gunna be pissed if its some nasty chinese made Repco jobbie.

That's right, but I don't think 1 psi is critical. I was seeing 12.5-1 AFR at
7psi boost and my pump taps out at 72psi.
Have you checked out local prices for inline pumps, eg. Holley, Bosch, etc.
At the prices quoted here, you're on the way to a Link ECU, which is a
superior solution.

Or you can go back to 1.8 injectors and add the RX7 AFM.

have u tried Daryl? He's around your way somewhere too, might even be a club sponsor. BTW, a Link is about the same price as an new rx7 fuel pump !!!

Here are some prices for fuel pumps and their specs I was e-mailed a while
ago.
In line pumps:
910: 200 Lph @ 5Bar $266.80+gst, 16mm inlet push on,male banjo outlet
979: 3 Lpm @ 3Bar $562.25+gst, commonly refered to as bosch motor sport pump,
inlet & outlet female threaded
044: 4 Lpm @ 3Bar $676.23+gst, inlet female thread,outlet male banjo.
In tank pumps:
040: 230 Lph @ 5Bar $415.29+gst, 60mm body,screen built in bottom,mail banjo
outlet,
012: unknown output,rated for 4.0-5.0Ltr engine $230.+gst,43mm body,12mm inlet
push on,8mm outlet push on
I personaly would go for larger injectors, fuel pump and an aftermarket ECU
(Link, Microtech etc, Link probably the better option since they are plug in),
to control it all.
Also, steer clear of Holley, keep the yankee parts for yanky cars, they can
keep their leaking crap. Sorry, just had a few fires in our RX-7 thanks to
holley
I hope this helps in some way.
Cheers
