Greetings All,
At present I have my 90' for sale (haven't got enough garage space for two fives) and I have received a rather strange inquiry.
A lady from Queensland, Australia has emailed me and wants to know if she can buy it and get it sent to Oz. I'm no expert on the whole import/export business but I believe that in Oz you can't import a car into the country if that same make and model was available new there. Is this correct?? I do know that if you previously owned the car for 12 months overseas you can bring it back to Oz as a personal import (I know this because a friend took his supercharged MR2 with him when his work transferred him to Oz). I don't really think she will be able to do it, but as I say, I'm no expert on the subject. Can anyone shed some light on the matter?

Matthew,
You are right. However, this rule doesn't apply to some sports models. I
don't know if the MX falls into this category. If no-one on the list
knows I have a contact that can find out.

I'm sure I have read somewhere that there are second hand Jap MX5s, GTOs,
WRXs going into Oz from Japan.
