click on it then create a shortcut back on your desktop

Don't know much about linux, I tried installing it on my PC but too many
drivers and things are unobtainable yet.
Have you used it for long? Whos version?

Sorry folks. Sent to the wrong list. You can see I'm new to this OS!
Michael. Mandrake 8.1 is a huge improvement on the Red Hat 5.2 I tried
3 years ago. Sets up almost all my devices automatically. If you are
sick of the "BSOD" I suggest you give it a try. 3 CD"s for around $35
has got to be cheaper than Win XP! - and all the applications are free -
and read your MS Office docs.

In mucking about with Gnome I have killed/lost the desktop shortcut icons and
the right click context menu that allowed me to mount the floppy, CD etc.
Anyone know the magic formula for bringing these back? I have searched
confusedly through the configuration wizard but can't see what I should
change. According to the configuration the windows manager is "sawfish". I
thought it was "Gnome".
