Manawatu where are you?

Post by chrishoys » Tue Jan 15, 2002 11:39 am

No replies to my previous message about the Manawatu / Wanganui group.
Is there no one out there from that part of the country, I know where I am it rains such a lot and is not always good for top down driving but hey, there must be some of us out there wanting an event??

Manawatu where are you?

Chrissy,

There are some of us out here - its the wind not the rain we worry about,
though I guess a 50km wind means you don't get wet anyway...just don't try
a one handed roof-up!

We'd be starters for an event - timing always seems wrong to join Wellington
/ Hutt or Hawkes Bay!

Manawatu where are you?

Well at this stage there is only me (Chrissy), Steve, Nicki, Peter and
Marilyn that have claime to be around the central district and I am still in
the process of joining the club - there by hangs a boring tale which
shortened goes along the lines of waiting for a voucher to arrive from the
garage where I bought my new baby from for a P Plate and I wanted to secure
that before I filled out my registration details on the application form,
but want to do that as soon as possible because I may have missed an edition
of the top down mag and I loved the one I downloaded from the internet.
Anyway, stop waffling chrissy - I can't wait to get involved in helping to
organise an event in this area, I went away for the weekend with my hubby,
leaving the kids with friends and took my CUTEMX, saw a few others and its
great that we all wave to each other - the ones I saw parked up didn't don a
club sticker or anything (is there such a thing?)
Anymore Manawatu / Taranaki MX's out there, please get in touch!
Chrissy

Manawatu where are you?

Post by zorruno » Sun Jan 27, 2002 10:18 pm

I was born in Stratford... does that count? Unfortunately - I now live a
bit too far North...

John McCosh was looking after the Manawatu group and had it pretty active
for quite a while. Not sure what he is up to now though - he was pretty
busy when I last spoke with him a number of months ago. If someone wanted
to organise a get together, that would be an excellent idea.
You can also put it in the club magazine Top Down (if you want it in Feb's
you will need to get it to the editor asap).

If someone wanted to take over the responsibility of local area coordinator,
the club can release details of all the manawatu members to that person. I
can give that person access to list the event on the website, and will also
email the members about any events or announcements you may have (there are
a lot more members subscribed to the club announcement list than there are
on this list). There is also a local group fund with some money in it to
spend. If anyone here is interested, let me know off list (don't forget to
check that my name is in the 'To' field, not the list's before clicking
send!)

Cheers
