More soft-top slashers/ microwave installation (longish)

I've got an older Mongoose alarm - the friendly Mongoose guys tell me that the newer models turn off the warning chirps if they're triggered too often.

The microwave sensor I got from them has two pot-adjusters (interior+exterior) which are easily twiddled with a screwdriver, and there's a LED indicating when it is being triggered. Makes setting it up easy :) I mounted mine in the most sensible place which happens to be behind and underneath the ashtray. I put it there because it's approximately equidistant from the front+rear windows and is between the two door handles where potential crims would be standing. And the seats don't block them there. The area of protection it provides is spherical (so it should be in the *middle* of the car) , but blocked by any metal objects such as the chassis and seat frames :P

I found that coins, wires (headset for mobile) tend to produce false alarms if I leave them in the ashtray, esp with the top down and the wind moving them a bit in the breeze. Something to remember.

Recommend you ask the installer to move the sensor to a more "central" location and adjust the sensitivity until you're satisfied !! Although I guess it'd help to have some sort of "leverage", could be tricky if you've paid them already...?

PS - the microwave sensor is always on, even when the alarm / car is off !
