According to Haynes.
Ensure throttle is wide open for tests.
crank engine over for at least 7 compression strokes.
1.6L = standard 192 p.s.i.
1.6L = minimum 135 p.s.i.
both at 300 revs which i suppose is at starter cranking speed.
max variation between cylinders = 28 p.s.i.
BUT it also mentions that auto transmission cars had engine with 9.0:1
compression ratio.
Where as Manual trans cars had 9.4:1 compression ratio.
so H.P. = 116@6500 for manual (1989-1990)
and = 105@6000 for Auto "
Hope this helps and doesn't confuse too much.

Mike
