Scraped off the green backing of the gauge faces and put some red LEDs behind the cluster. The hotspots came out really bad in the photos for some reason, theyre almost undetectable in person.

Kidding! That's what the silvia is for.

For the Miata/Mx5 Lots of ideas. But one idea to rule them all....

N/A? Not sure that's the best approach unless you're willing to invest an unhealthy amount of money

NO! THAT IS NOT FUNCTIONAL THAT IS OFFROADING

When I say functional I mean I will still be low. But I won't be as low as I was before, I will be able to get over speed bumps!

I'd like to think my car is functional height. Took Matt for a drive last night out the back of Waiuku and didn't have a bit of bodyroll

Small update. Was at a friends house last night helping him clean up his replacement engine, short nose crank failure got the better of his previous, and got a bit jelly about his purty valve cover. Am currently in half a mind as to whether to pull the engine to tidy the bay up, as I may not get another chance for quite some time. Would wire tuck and cut a heap of junk out at the same time.

Anyhow, everyone hates updates without pictures, so here's some for you.

This was my first surprise, didn't realise I had them as they weren't wired up. Gotta find replacements for them now.

Then this turned up :)
Image
WP_000111 by Jarred McLachlan, on Flickr

Started cleaning it up with my dremel then doused it in Braklean. (Brake cleaner). We have this new fast drying shite here that literally dried off it within a minute, amazing!
Image
WP_000112 by Jarred McLachlan, on Flickr

Then attacked it with some custom coloured paint. Walked into the paint shop about 6 months ago and asked for "In your face fuckoff green"

It's got glitter and shite in it. Have edited slightly so that it is more like the actual colour. Candy green with a yellow pearl

Very nice. When I painted mine I was too lazy to track down some masking tape to cover the holes...

Anyway, yesterday i dropped my car off to get the clutch and a few seals changed. Should be done tomorrow.

The guy did say that there is a little oil coming from somewhere near the top of the engine (coilpack area) , any ideas what it might be?

2 possibilities, the seal on the CAS or there is no sealant in the corners of the cam cover gasket where it rises over the CAS.

Ah that sounds easy to fix, will have a look into it when i get the car back.
I assume with the CAS that you just have to unbolt it and get a new seal or do you have to remove the rocker cover?

When I put on my valve cover I'll be replacing the valve cover seal/gasket. Is there a special kind of sealer I use or any automotive silicon is ok? Is it easy enough to change the CAS seal while I'm at it?
