WoW Classic: Entering Blackwing Lair

Blackwing Lair (BWL) is a level 60, 40-man raid dungeon located at the very height of Blackrock Spire in Blackrock Mountain. Players can enter Blackrock Mountain from either the Burning Steppes or Searing Gorge. Within the depths of Blackrock Mountain’s peak, Nefarian, the eldest son of Deathwing, is conducting experiments to control mighty beings and combine the eggs of different dragonflights. Those brave enough to face the dangers within Blackwing Lair can gather their allies and undertake the journey into the heart of the mountain to reap the treasures within, including precious WoW Gold Classic and other rare rewards that make this raid a must-do for many high-level players.

Gaining Attunement

To enter Blackwing Lair, players must first become attuned. To do so:

Head toward Blackrock Spire and take the passageway to the right.
Fight through the Scarshield Legion to get to the Scarshield Quartermaster.
Kill the Scarshield Quartermaster to loot Blackhand’s Command, which begins the quest Blackhand’s Command.
Enter Upper Blackrock Spire (UBRS) to access the Orb of Command behind General Drakkisath’s throne. Players can either distract or kill him.
Click the Orb of Command to complete the quest and become attuned to Blackwing Lair.
An alternate entrance within Upper Blackrock Spire becomes accessible after Warchief Rend Blackhand has been defeated, but requires a raid group to enter. While raiding Blackwing Lair, players can earn significant amounts of WoW Gold, which can be used for future raids, crafting, or trading with other players.

Blackwing Lair Bosses

Blackwing Lair contains 8 bosses, each with their own challenges:

Razorgore the Untamed: Razorgore protects and cultivates black dragon eggs.
Vaelastrasz the Corrupt: Vaelastrasz was corrupted in battle with Nefarian and forced to fight Nefarian’s enemies.
Broodlord Lashlayer: A drakonid of the black dragonflight used as frontline soldiers.
Firemaw, Ebonroc, and Flamegore: Members of the black dragonflight under the command of Nefarian.
Chromaggus: A chromatic monster created by Nefarian that can harness the power of the dragonflights.
Nefarian: The lord of Blackrock Spire, a member of the black dragonflight, the eldest son of Deathwing, and creator of the chromatic dragonflight.
