Hey everyone
So I bought a 1999 MX-5 as a first car back in January, and I really like the car. I have done countless research and now know almost every possible future problem with my car (Rust, Coil Packs etc) . However, I know nothing about the community of MX-5 enthusiasts in Auckland/New Zealand. I would like to know if there are any places that specialise in MX-5s in or near Auckland as well as some things I should know about the community in New Zealand. Also, is MX5Parts a good place to buy parts from? Heard mixed reviews.
Cheers

If you are into the social side of MX5s, ie. monthly runs, dinners etc, you should consider joining the MX5 Club of NZ, www.mx5club.org.nz. Monthly runs in Auckland usually get a turnout of 20 to 40 cars.
Broomfish is good for new spares. If you need second hand parts there are several companies regularly advertising on Trademe, all of which provide good service in my experience.
I'm not in the insurance game, but I don't know why insuring an NA should be more expensive than an NB, they are the same type of vehicle. Over the years there have been many discussions on the Forum about insurance, a search might give you an answer. Our 2003 NB costs us $385 fully comp with full no claims with AA insurance.
