HELP : just locked keys in boot, in Milford!

Post by harlansmart » Tue Mar 11, 2014 11:12 am

I'm a retard,

Just locked the keys in the boot, any ideas anyone?

Have called AA.

Am trying the keys for the black car but they don't work...

What's the best thing to do, we're packed up to go away on holiday argh, typical eh.

Any ideas or keys massively appreciated !!!

Would've been funnier if you locked the keys inside the car with the top down -reminded me of family guy where Peter locks himself in the car. Glad it was sorted eventually

Ok - I had a lot of crap in the car, on the parcel tray and boot, so I didn't want to leave it defenceless... if the car had been empty I would have walked into the mall & bought a $29.99 drill & a 5mm allen key from the Warehouse (or caught a cab to the 2low2c workshop) and I would have taken off the plate, and then you drill a 3mm hole through the centre of the RHS dimple, the rod is right there, just move it to the left, the AA guy had a coat-hanger sharpened, the job took him inside 5 minutes from arrival to the time we were indicating to move into the traffic flow, incredibly easy, but you need:

1. a tool to remove whatever is securing the plate

2. a drill (AA guy had a 75yo hand drill fwiw !!)

3. something sharp'ish to push the rod etc

Note: At a pinch I could have done the whole job with what I had 'on hand' (a stout fixed blade knife (RAT Izula FWIW)) but I would have had a bit of an ugly messy hole (still would have been hidden by the plate nonetheless).

FYI

Lol, shut up, my face isn't burnt lol

muhahahah I am dropping by MX5 Forum right now, purely to see if I can glean any beta about the MX5 that got pranged into a pole this week, by a dude leering at a piece of (supposedly) hot pussy strutting on the sidewalk.

Frikken' hope she was worth it... whoever it was, Angreal?

Harlan - I will write up an email tonight re. a solenoid in the boot.

I had one in TROLOL and it was one of the best things I had done. Took >30 mins

and no stress of locking keys in the boot.
