So...
Knuckles are nearly useless for us..
And Kieran and Luke run Iconcept tierods and spacers?

What's this about using FC tie rod ends?

Think the fc tie rod ends are better designed to reduce bump steer and are easier to find than stock mx5 ones

Im running iConcepts with one extra spacer, only need the FC Super Now rod ends if you are real low and get binding, which I dont. Supposedly stock Bilstein rod ends(Maruha sells) and S13 ones work but I havent looked into those as another option

Will be doing tie rods at some point and will have to do ball joints as the rubbers on mine have broken

You know you can buy those boots for like $6 each from ADL?

Soo I went drifting for the first time in about a month on the full Hampton downs track on Valentines day, was awesome fun.

Had a mix of dry and a bit wet at times so it was quite hard at times. But I was making sure to use all the track

Sometimes a little too much

I had my Dampers cranked to full Yuuta to compensate for the soft sidewalls of the Yoko A Drives on the back.

Heres the little video

I have some new springs coming so I can get a bit more grip, and my Longchamps/Watanabe set should show up soon hopefully too[/img]

Tried my hand at this drifting fad yesterday. First time I've bothered with my MX5 as it hasnt really interested me before. Enjoyed myself more than I expected but with the car set up for grip I had a few problems that I wasn't expecting. Nevertheless a good day  And only spun twice :P

Expected:
Oil too hot, could only get in about 10-12 laps before I had to cool down.

Unexpected:
Split the valve cover to intake breather hose and pissed oil over my manifold, obviously it's old and brittle
Tyres started going off far sooner than I expected when I was drifting, they were still fine for grip
Water temp would get up damn quick, wasn't expecting the factory radiator to be so shit.

Yeah - the factory radiator doesn't hold up particularly well at all..

Factory radiator was fine on track for me just not skidpan, No surprise about the tyres though they overheat fast. What were you running?

My friend Andrew took some mint photos at the last drift day, even stock 1.6s make smoke!

Then to get some more grip I went to softer springs at the back

Ready to go in

Then I made a mistake with the adjustment

So I had a friend take a video from the last drift day from the outside! Was quite cool, you can see me trying to go fast enough to keep a D1 car happy and doing some off roading...
