I find Torsen great, only issue for drifting is the ratio. Keen for a 6 Speed.

So I had a play around after hitting my brace and decided I need to raise the rear about 15mm.

What it looks like now.

So Im thinking of getting some Alloy pieces cut to spacer the tophat down.

I know some places in the US do them but they are real expensive.

Take a decent stencil of your top hat, and take it to a cnc firm. They should be able to cut them out for you easily enough. I assume it just needs to be flat.

Finally got around to fitting the NB rear subframe (that I got from Donovan months ago) into the TG. Differences with the subframe braces and exhaust mount meant it wasn't just a cut and paste but it is all in now. Unfortunately the fitting of the PPF brace will have to wait. (if anyone wants a ppf brace for a NA8C, drop a PM to Furai).

Today i found out that im getting a 4.1 ratio torsen not a 3.9 like i thought.
This works out very well for me as it means that i can move from my current 205/50-15's to some 195/45-15's and the speedo will still be correct at 100k's :D

So i should hopefully get the right one

Getting mine from mazline in Christchurch, came to $600 inc shipping to Auckland.
The 3.9 should still be available, not sure if they will have some matching axles and driveshaft

From what I understand, it should be the same axles and diff. Tad expensive for me right now, so I will hold off, but at least I know where it's coming from. Thanks!

Axles/halfshats and diff are bigger for NA8 and all NB. Need them all for conversion.

Sorry, to correct myself.

Should be the same between cars with a 4.1 and 3.9. I understand my axles and driveshaft need to be replaced.

Have you thought about just bunging in some NB tophats in the rear? Im pretty sure they swap out and are about an inch higher than NA ones. Might want to look into that for a cheap solution. The rear being lower than the front will cause understeer, and make the car more unstable at high speeds because of lift.

Its the other way around, NB hats go lower and I cant use them now as they wont keep the spring captive. Spacers are the easiest way.

Took the car out of the garage after having parked it up before Xmas.

Had a quick blast around the streets, great to be back driving the NA again
