Er, isn't the playday track session on Sat 1st, this gymkhana is on Sun 2nd, so now what is your feeble excuse.

A fair bit, 5 timed runs and the rest of the day is free time 1min sessions to keep things moving.

Came and checked it out with my old man today, after going to the Fathers Day Drags. Saw one white MX5 having a go then I watched some dudes abusing a Cefiro and a Sylvia, quite a change of pace from the shitty V8s at Meremere

Also, the MX5 I saw didn't have any roll protection, just a drive and passenger wearing helmets?! I was under the impression you needed at least a hardtop. Now that I know that, count me in for next time.

Can someone confirm that? I'm quite keen to come down for a spin, but don't have the money for a roll bar yet

For the Gymkhana you only need a helmet!
1 X Primera
2 X Silvia
1 X BMW E30
1 X Audi A6
3 X Mazda MX5 (1989, 1990, 1991)

Shouldn't even need that, if you do something that you manage to put you car on it's roof on a skid pan, you deserve to be squashed and help clean up the gene pool a bit. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning while walking around on a sunny day, inside, than puttin an MX5 on it's lid on polished concrete, unless the organiser has setup the course wrong and put the course close to the brushed/stone area, not leaving any wiggle room.

Yeah, although one time I ran a skid pan down there, it was just after a large event had been held at hampton's, and they had left all the giant booty tent pegs in the stones just off the side of the concrete (they had large tents setup there before and parked some of the classic cars on the skid pan), that certainly made everyone think twice about going close too close to the edge.

Yeah just a Moto helmet needed.

You would have some serious issues if you a rolling a Roadster, even on stuffed shocks and stock springs the closest I got was 3-wheeling.
