To be fair though, my order of preference is NA > NC > NB, which is probably funny considering my first taste of any of them was driving an NB Roadster through the winding roads of Mt Akina (Haruna) and Mt Akagi in Japanham wrote:DittoMr. Shine wrote:Not my cup of tea, if I had to take an NC it'd be hard top all the way.
Think I'd still prefer spending the money on restoring and modifying an NA

It would need to be a right hand drive kit for NZ so that it dips to the left. In most cases that is determined by the design of the lens. If it is a standard size light fitting you may be able to by the fitting kit and source the lights themselves locally. Providing they are the correct lights and properly adjusted there shouldn't be any warrant issues.punkoutnz wrote:I've been drooling over that kit for a while. I remember reading you need a left hand drive kit though, as the lights angle slightly differently.
Just had a thought, doesn't the Astina use a rectangular fitting in its pop-up headlights.

Damn those are nice, I'm keen on a group buy. I'm starting full time work in the next few weeks so I'll have some cash to finally do something to my car.Kieran wrote:Oh dear god that thing is pure porn!!!

Since the post has been hijacked from the speedster to low profile headlights, I have got a template for some low profile lights using the Hella H7 90mm headlights, which on initial testing meet the WOF standards, but just waiting till the car is completely done before final checks and then figuring out how much it costs to make them up.
Sounds good.. Got any pictures? I'd buy a set off you for sure. And yeah gotta say the MX5 forums here are pretty bad at veering off topic, everyone likes talking about 5s too muchDonovan wrote:Since the post has been hijacked from the speedster to low profile headlights, I have got a template for some low profile lights using the Hella H7 90mm headlights, which on initial testing meet the WOF standards, but just waiting till the car is completely done before final checks and then figuring out how much it costs to make them up.
I could certainly be interested in pursuing this as a test car if you'd likeDonovan wrote:Since the post has been hijacked from the speedster to low profile headlights, I have got a template for some low profile lights using the Hella H7 90mm headlights, which on initial testing meet the WOF standards, but just waiting till the car is completely done before final checks and then figuring out how much it costs to make them up.
I think the only complicated part would be, aside from fabricating the house, adjusting the motors to fit to the lower profile of the housing.
