momo steering wheels

Post by johngalt » Thu Nov 26, 2009 2:24 pm

Hey guys, my steering wheel is in not the best condition, so thinking of replacing it. First of all do all momo fit my 6 bolt boss kit, and i would like a smaller wheel to get my legs under easier, will that effect driving/steering comfort? thank you oh wise ones :D

Yes, all momo same PCD.

Standard wheel is approx 360mm.

Have tried 320mm but too small. 350mm good.

Anthony.

Yes, too hard to turn.

I don't have power steering so that made it worse.

The 350mm was a good compromise.

momo steering wheels

I've got a Momo on my NA. Bolted straight on. Can't remember the model
or size, though. Will check it out tonight. Slighlty smaller than
standard, so it blocks the top of the dials a bit. I have to duck my
head to read the oil press gauge. But I wanted a wheel with a thicker
rim - easier for me to grip - and leather covered. It makes the car so
much nicer to drive.

I have Momo Corse 350mm on my NA. It's very good with manual steering lack. All black and yellow/red logo.
A shop messed the hone button with another model and I've got blushed silver one so I was using the original momo buttons for while.
After I installed some other Momo staff, I have replaced button to shiny one. This is how it looks now. E-brake boot is one from Ross and I modified to make it larger to accommodate more beefy momo brake handle.

If you think 350mm is too big for clearance, you might want to try a D-shaped wheel instead. I'm not actually a fun of that shape, but it may give you some leg space in most of time?

Leg space can be increased by using a deeper dish. I run a deep dish wheel on my 'fun' cars as it allows me to get a little closer to the wheel without cramping my legs, and gives more space behind/under the wheel for heel toeing and other fancy footwork :D

It's a Momo Competition 35 - 350mm diameter. I also bought a Momo gear knob at the same time - leather covered - just adds to the driving pleasure :-) .
