Dear Colin
Best ones I have seen are from Christchurch - contact Darcy at

However, there does seem to be one slight drawback in fitting a style bar
between the brace points on the NA. The standard brace has an angle in it
which allows the seats to move back an extra 2" or so. By fitting a style
bar which is straight in this area, you will lose that extra legroom.
I recently fitted a factory windblocker (bought cheap from the UK for 58
pounds sterling (NZ$160) - NZ dealer price NZ$990!) and fitting that has
necessitated re-mounting the brace backwards so it actually juts forward 2".
I can manage that - I am 5'10 and my wife 5'0 - but it is a little tight
even so and the seat leather is right against the brace bar. I have a friend
who is 6'4 who drives my car occasionally, though. He is now completely
unable to drive the car as his thighs hit the steering wheels and he has the
top of the screen right in front of his eyes. I am going to replace the
brace with a style bar to regain 2" of the 4" lost, which will make it
better for me but probably not good enough for him.
Perhaps some other members might have a solution?
Simon
