KONI SHOCK group buy pricing (again)

Post by Kjellberg, Adrian » Tue Oct 21, 2003 4:44 pm

I guessing my springs have done 180,000km carrying an average weight of
1100kg.
I have only done 10,000km.
Are you saying they have an indefinite life, or is it entirely dependant on
weight carried?

KONI SHOCK group buy pricing (again)

Post by Grant » Mon Dec 08, 2003 8:30 pm

I happened to be talking to a neighbour about shocks etc. He is in the
vehicle upgrade business, selling lots of shocks and other parts here. He
checked the price of adjustable Konis for me and he can supply a set for
$1050.00 including GST and freight. He is going to confirm this price with
his supplier tomorrow, as he wasn't sure of the engine size in my car. His
supplier asked him whether it was a 1.8 or 1.6, so he assumes there is a
difference in the prices.
As he will fit them for me at a very reasonable rate, then the price if
correct, seems very good as the group buy would work out about the same.
How is the group buy going? I don't want to pull out of that to the
disadvantage of others if the numbers are tight.

KONI SHOCK group buy pricing (again)

Post by Grant » Tue Dec 09, 2003 5:50 pm

My supplier has confirmed the price of the Konis at $1050.0 incl GST and
freight, plus he should be able to fit them before Christmas. If I don't
hear what is happening with the group buy by tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, I
will go ahead and order mine locally. I just hope this is not disadvantaging
others due to the numbers required for the group buy.
As I can get them for this price, then if others do want some, I am sure I
can arrange my supplier to supply them to you. Maybe with a bit of arm
twisting in the right places, you might be able to buy them yourself at this
price.

I find it surprising that you are being asked to pay $100 more than the group buy 2 years ago when the dollar was a lot weaker. $100 cheaper would have been m guess.

KONI SHOCK group buy pricing (again)

The price quoted for the group buy is $904.00 + GST and freight. This is
$1017.00 including gst but not including freight. The price I have been
given which does include GST and freight is $1050.00. This means I am paying
an extra $43.00. Out of this $43.00 I would have to pay freight. Depending
on the freight company used, this could be $10.00 to $25.00 or so, so at
best by going with the group buy, I would save $33.00. I would have to wait
until January at least, and I still don't know if the group buy is
definitely on.
