Stolen MX5 parts - Wellington

Post by Mike Pearson - WYSIWYG... » Tue Feb 04, 2003 9:45 pm

Hi, a friend just had his '90 BRG Roadster broken into, in Clifton Terrace,
Wellington.

They smashed the quarterpane on the passenger side. For some reason, his
alarm didn't work (can a blown bulb in the passenger side light really
affect an alarm like this?), but they were interrupted before they finished
stripping the car.

Missing items are:

2 door speakers, Alpine, 5.25", Blue cone, white trim
2 door speaker covers, BRG brown
2 seat speakers, Sony, 6", Bright red cone, silver centre
1 centre console trim, dark brown wooden
2 chrome bolts that screw the hard top mounting plates in

Keep your eyes open and a timely reminder to test your alarm.

If it's an older design alarm without adequate short circuit protection it is
possible. This is the reason I strongly recommend microwave sensors for our
cars.

Agree entirely but suggest that you ask if the microwave will be
running while you are driving. I'm not suggesting it is necessarily
dangerous, I'm just suggesting it is entirely unnecessary.

The microwave only arms with the alarm.

You say Clifton Terrace, you mean the council car park?
