Anyone seen the new Daihatsu convertible?

Passed one tonight on the way home, seems to come from the "Enid Blyton"
School of car design

All it needed was a nodding head and "Big Ears"

An MX5 Rival-- I think not!

Ain't seen one Eric but Jeremy like the new Vauxhall
!!!

"Even though it comes with a Vauxhall badge, which is awfully
embarrassing when people ask you at parties what you drive, I think Im
right in saying that this is the first small open-topped car Ive driven
in the past eight years that is better than the Mazda MX-5.

Some say its a bit girlie, a little like going to work in a blouse. And
I think I can sort of see what they mean. I couldnt for instance see
Sean Connery in a Tigra."

The Bloody bugga, LOL

Yes, I guess thet's what it was called, I don't know who thinks these names
up. The one I saw was yellow, that's why it reminded me of Noddy's car!

I think the new Vauxhall is the Lotus Elise in drag, (I'm thinking of the
VX220) It is basically the same car, but with the creature comforts that the
Elise lacks.

If you have ever driven an Elise, which is a study in just how impractical you
can make a car whilst still having fun, you would understand how Jeremy
Clarkson might like it, they are way cool! (Coming from a 57 year old, that
expression shows you just how cool they are).

I passed my mid-life crisis when I bought the MX5, so I'm hoping I have a
"geriatric crisis" when I might be able to convince myself that an Elise is
just what I need.

Have a great day!

There is a Vauxhall Tigra that was tested on Top Gear in about May, I think.
It is available as a convertible with a push button metal roof. It folds
down behind the seats but in front of the boot.
I see Top Gear is back on the BBC at about 2:30 Friday morning again so
better get the recorder organised.
