Electric Window Cable Repairs

Post by Ross Bryon » Mon Nov 29, 2004 2:03 pm

I'm looking for a recommendation:
My daughter's Roadster has "snapped" the electric window cable swages
on both sides... does anyone know of someone in the Auckland area she
can go to who has experience in fixing them?

Electric Window Cable Repairs

Post by Michael & Kate Cooper » Mon Nov 29, 2004 4:17 pm

Hi there - I believe Ross from MX5 Mart can supply the cables. If you go to
a mechanic, they may tell you that the whole mechanism needs replacing - and
they're quite expensive. My dad had this on his MX5, and he bought the
cables from Ross, and then got the local garage to fit them, at a fraction
of the original cost he was quoted from somewhere else.

Thanks to all who contributed to this discussion. The white lithium grease did the trick.
