Hi all
my exhaust system on my 96 1.8 is starting to make a bit of a racket, and I suspect a new muffler is about due. I looked at some sites in the US for parts, but the cost is going to be prohibitive.
I contacted North Shore Mazda for a price...ha ha! As it's a Roadster, the parts have to come from Japan (don't all Mazda parts come from Japan??), and that was a bit steep too!!
Where's the best place in Auckland or nearby (don't mind a bit of travelling) for a replacement?
Thanks
Graeme H

For what it is worth, I am holding off on re-locating my spare to underneath the car until I need a new exhaust, at which time the pipes can be bet to accommodate the wheel.

Just as a side to this query, what's the situation regarding catalytic converters here in NZ? Did I see a thread recently regarding this?

I don't think it will ever come into force here, why would the government make
such a ruling? It would obviously be great for the environment and would get
ride of all the super loud exhaust systems on boy racers cars... but no tax
or vote benefit for the government... They have more important issues to
enforce like tinted widows or little blue LED's (yes stupid I know, but actual
no harm) so why would they want to waste their time trying to protect the
environment etc...
