Rear suspension brace.... it wont fit.

Post by poison » Wed Jun 02, 2004 12:10 am

Hi all

I bought a rear suspension brace from Ross in Hamilton but the holes are
about 5mm out (not Ross's fault as it looks about right against my friends
car). Someone told me when I mark the suspension bolts locations, then
loosen them, they will move and I will be able to slip the brace on, but I
imagine if I do this it will put the bolts in a different place and my
alignment will be out. Any one had this problem?

Cheers

Hi Gazza;Your on the right track. You mark the bolt heads (as they are on
concentric washers)so you know where they are, fit the brace and then
return them to their original position and tighten the nuts.If you dont
mark them you wont be able to return them to the correct position and you
will need a rear wheel alignment. Ross.

I'd get it realigned anyway, it only takes a minute difference to have the
alignment out by 1/2 degree or so.
