I guess the G3 are like any tyre - get some heat in them & they will
perform better... I've run my G3's now for 2500km & no problems at all,
any conditions, hot or cold...
All depends on your driving style - do you leap into your car & give it
death first thing in the morning, or just "ease into it", giving your car
10 or so minutes to come up to temperature, before giving it death?

Tyres
Looking back over previous emails on the subject of tyres, the Bridgestone
G III appear to be a very suitable tyre choice. However, after speaking to
Owen at Performance Tyres, he comments that whilst the GIII are a top of
the range tyre, this fact also means that they suffer if they are not
warmed up. (He offered Bridgestone GR50 S and S as an alternative). How
much effect this will have on day to day running is only speculative.
I am not sure that it matters if my trip to work suffers by a few tenths
of a second, but I would be interested in comments from those in the know
about whether or not driving on colder G IIIs is really an issue.
Thank you

Tyres
I've done over 30,000km in the last 12 months on my G3's and am more than
happy with them. My driving is on the roads around Marlborough and Nelson
mostly. I had Kumho tyres on the car when I bought it and have found the
Bridgestones to be quieter and more comfortable. I do like to enjoy the car
on some of the ver twisty roads in this area (mostly in the Marlborough
Sounds) so they do get a lot of km's on these roads. This would accelerate
the wear of course but so far they are wearing very well with a lot of tread
left. Mine are on standard 14" rims.
Firestone are advertising them (14") for $165.00 at present.
